MoveOn's secret weapon

The largest academic study of American elections just revealed exactly why MoveOn's get-out-the-vote campaign is so critical to ensuring Kamala Harris wins the presidential election.

Dear MoveOn member,

The largest academic study of American elections just revealed exactly why MoveOn's get-out-the-vote campaign is so critical to ensuring Kamala Harris wins the presidential election.

In a paper released this week, researchers with the Cooperative Election Study found that Vice President Kamala Harris leads Donald Trump 50-46 among adults who did not vote in the 2020 presidential election, or who voted third party.1

This is HUGE. Because this is the demographic of voters MoveOn has been focusing on all year long. And it means that if we can motivate these infrequent voters to cast their vote, Harris will win this election.

In a close election that could come down to just a few thousand votes spread across a handful of states, what will decide the election is voter turnout. We need to reach the voters who are on our side but don't vote consistently.

Here's the good news: That's exactly what MoveOn has been doing for months.

That's why Robert Reich recently said that "No organization in America has a better track record of success at using cutting-edge strategies to reach infrequent voters who are on our side than MoveOn. I believe that in an election this close, MoveOn's electoral program could be the difference between Vice President Harris winning and losing the election."

Will you chip in $9 right now to help fund MoveOn's big final push to mobilize these voters to the polls and help bring this election home for Vice President Harris?

What's uniquely powerful about MoveOn's program is that it's designed to reach, with astounding precision and effectiveness, the left-leaning voters who don't always vote—and get them to the polls.

In other words: MoveOn's program reaches the exact voters we need to mobilize to win, according to the Cooperative Election Study.

MoveOn has been reaching these voters through a number of ways for months. For example, MoveOn members have made more than 1,600,000 phone calls to these infrequent voters and sent them tens of thousands of postcards with information about the stakes of the election.

And at the center of MoveOn's campaign is an ultra-effective tactic—called "community vote tripling"—that is as much as five times more effective at turning out voters than traditional methods!2

Yes, you read that right—FIVE TIMES as effective. That's a stunning breakthrough.

William, this is the exact tactic we need to reach the exact voters who will make or break this election.

This isn't an exaggeration or a gimmick. It's the cold, hard truth backed by data and evidence.

MoveOn's community vote tripling program will have an incredible impact on this close election—if it's fully funded. Please click here to donate $9 to MoveOn's big final push to mobilize infrequent voters to the polls.

Thanks for all you do.

Nothing is scarier than a Trump presidency. Save the monsters for Halloween and make calls to elect Kamala!

Dear MoveOn member,

We know it can feel frightful to pick up the phone and speak directly with voters, but trust us—there's nothing scarier than a Trump presidency. And luckily there's something we can do to avoid this ghostly scene.

MoveOn members are making crucial phone calls every single day through Election Day to reach as many voters as possible and make sure they turn out to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris. We'll get you all the training you need to make sure you're comfortable and ready to go!

MoveOn members have already made 1 MILLION phone calls to crucial voters this election, and there's more to be done! Every call can be the difference between someone sitting this election out and casting their ballot to elect Kamala Harris.

Our data team has identified the most crucial people in the most consequential states, whose votes could likely swing this election. To meet our voter contact goal, we need 250 people who read this email to sign up for a shift. Will you join us to call voters for at least one shift before November 5?

Millions of Americans are voting every single day in swing states as mail-in ballots get counted and early voting sites open their doors.1 It's now up to us to make sure we motivate as many key voters as possible so we can power the momentum for Kamala Harris!

Take it from MoveOn volunteer Lena. She was scared to get involved, but she did it anyway. She's doing everything she can, and more, right now—for the sake of her two children and because she wants to be the reason we elected our first-ever female POTUS! After attending her first event and connecting with fellow members, she got hooked and is now at the top of the caller leaderboards!

Be like Lena. Don't ghost your civic duty—sign up for a MoveOn phone-banking shift today!

Kamala Harris is the leader we need to fight for our climate, our families, and our collective future. But elections can be won or lost on just thousands of votes—and that's why we need your help.

No tricks here: The voters we're calling are the people we KNOW we need in order to win. They live in key swing states, and their votes could be the difference between building a better future or living under Project 2025.

Don't be haunted by missed volunteer opportunities. Sign up for a shift today, and tell a friend to join you!

Thanks for all you do.

Powerful NYT editorial: Believe Trump

They used Trump's own words to outline his dangerous plans in each of these areas, repeating each time, "Believe him."

Dear MoveOn member,

As first reported by CNN, yesterday MoveOn launched a seven-figure ad on the economy—the No. 1 issue in this election—with two partner organizations, the Working Families Party and Future Forward.1

It's our closing argument before Election Day. We are making the final case to American voters that Vice President Kamala Harris is on the side of working people, while Donald Trump absolutely is not.

The ad is airing on streaming services in all seven battleground states and is targeting late-deciding, less political, working-class voters, as well as those voters who have been third-party curious. It can also be seen on YouTube.

It's a very large ad buy, but we had to do it—because this is the final stretch, and we're leaving everything on the field.

But here's the thing: We hadn't budgeted for this ad; we didn't think we'd have to do something like this so late in the game.

But this election is too close—and the stakes are too high—for us to sit this out.

It's critical that we reach on-the-fence voters, and this ad is how we'll do it.

We know that you'll be shocked by the cost of this ad. It's a seven-figure ad buy, but with all of the political spending in this election, that's what the going rate is. We couldn't have done it without crucial allies, and we wouldn't spend the money if we didn't think it had to be done.

Now, we urgently need additional funds for the final stretch to continue our other critical work to reach voters.

We are counting on you, William. Please rush a $9 donation to MoveOn to help us keep our electoral program going in the final sprint to Election Day.

We want you to watch the ad, but here's a preview:

Against the backdrop of powerful images, our ad says:

"Most of us work hard to care for the people we love and build a better life. But corporations are making record profits, getting richer off our backs, while we work harder. Kamala Harris will make sure we keep more of what we earn–cracking down on price gouging, lowering the cost of housing and prescription drugs, and making the rich pay their fair share in taxes. Vote Kamala Harris. She's with us. Not with them."

And it closes with an image of Trump and his billionaire buddy Elon Musk.

Before launching the ad, we tested it with voters in our target audiences, and it performed extremely well across every demographic in each swing state.

The results blew us away. They were among the best we'd seen for an ad during this entire election cycle.

That's why we knew we HAD to launch this ad, with the help of crucial partners, at a massive, impactful, difference-making, seven-figure scale.

But we have crucial work we must continue in the final week, including ...

  • Phone-banking more than one million voters
  • Running microtargeted ad campaigns so that each voter sees the ad most persuasive to them across multiple digital channels
  • Working in partnerhip with social media influencers
  • Our community vote tripling program that helps voters reach out personally to their family and friends to remind them to cast a ballot. Studies show this program as much as five times more effective than traditional voter outreach; and
  • Field organizers on the ground in battleground states who are running canvasses to reach the critical voters who will decide this election.

We can't afford to pull even a little bit away from this crucial work. Not even for this incredibly powerful ad campaign. So we're counting on you to help fill this funding gap for the final stretch.

Please rush a $9 donation now to help MoveOn have the resources for this final sprint to when the polls close on Election Day.

The New York Times editorial board wrote powerfully on Sunday: "Donald Trump says he will prosecute his enemies, order mass deportations, use soldiers against citizens, abandon allies, play politics with disasters. Believe him."2

They used Trump's own words to outline his dangerous plans in each of these areas, repeating each time, "Believe him."

We believe him and know what he's capable of. And we know that the Trump-packed Supreme Court won't stop Trump. Remember, the Supreme Court ruled this year that Trump can't be prosecuted for crimes he commits as president.3

And we know that the political staff who held Trump in check—to an extent—in his first term have since abandoned him and are sounding the alarms about how dangerous he is. They have been replaced by MAGA die-hards who are endlessly loyal to Trump and will alway put him above us and our country.4

And that's why in these final five days before the election, we MUST do everything possible to get every left-leaning voter in the battleground states to the polls. But it's going to take all of us doing everything we can.

We need you now, William. Please rush a $9 donation now to help MoveOn have the resources for this final sprint to when the polls close on Election Day.

Thanks for all you do.

–Britt, Amanda R., Alyssa, Isbah, and the rest of the team

P.S. Bruce Springsteen and Beyoncé are reminding their friends and family to vote, and we need voters in key battleground states to join them! RSVP now to call Harris-Walz supporters and ask them to triple their impact by reminding people to vote.

Re: The Washington Post & the Los Angeles Times

They can't get away with this. Sign the petition and we'll follow up with you to take direct action.

We demand transparency and honesty for voters across the country. Sign the petition to tell the Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post: Publish your existing endorsements for Kamala Harris!

Dear MoveOn member,

In the past week, both The Washington Post and the LA Times decided to withdraw their endorsements of Vice President Kamala Harris at the last minute.1,2

To be clear: Both outlets reportedly were set to endorse Harris just days ago, with staff at both publications attesting to the fact that these thorough endorsements were already written, and they just needed to be published and released to the public.3 You read that right. Now, sign the petition to push back against this undemocratic decision.

At the last second, billionaire Patrick Soon-Shiong, the owner of the The Los Angeles Times reportedly stopped the endorsement from going out. From a newspaper with position to have substantial influence—especially in Harris's home state, that has been following Harris's career since 2008—to withdraw their already-existing endorsement of her is ridiculous. That's not even accounting for the facts:

  1. This news comes less than a week out from one of the most consequential elections of our lifetimes.
  2. Harris's opponent, Donald Trump, is a candidate who undermines our democracy, touts the "Big Lie" about free and fair democratic elections being rigged, and threatens political violence on his opponents. And that's just what he's done in the past month.4

The Washington Post followed suit just days later, with a report from the Post itself that one of the world's richest men, billionaire Jeff Bezos stopped the Post's endorsement of Kamala Harris just as it was about to be published.5

This is unconscionable. And we will not let this election be bought and sold and determined by billionaire elitists. Sign the petition if you agree.

We are LESS than a week out from an election that will decide the fate of our lives and futures. That is not hyperbole; this is a fight for our bodily autonomy and the freedoms of every American. Demand the Los Angeles Times and The Washington Post publish their original endorsements of Kamala Harris for President!

This is about more than just a lack of endorsement for Harris. This is about integrity, honesty, and transparency with the American public. If the LA Times and The Washington Post had said in advance, a year ago, they would not endorse in the race, that would be cause for some disappointment. But that's not the case whatsoever. These articles came out within days of one another, with the same story.

Is it a coincidence that billionaires are holding back key endorsements this close to the nation's Election Day on November 5? Especially considering news dropped within the past couple of weeks that another influential billionaire, Twitter/X owner Elon Musk, was planning to hand out huge payments in battleground states as part of a get-out-the-vote drive?6

What is certain to us is that these reports not only undermine the writers and staff who came together to write and research both candidates to make a decision to endorse, but they also have the potential to undermine and increase voter uncertainty in our democracy and in our media ecosystem. Since the endorsements were pulled, multiple staff from both publications have resigned from their roles.7

In a heightened time of misinformation and disinformation, this cannot be acceptable from publications that millions of people read and trust. Will you sign the petition so we can gather the necessary momentum to fight back against these decisions?

The latest reports have Harris and Trump neck and neck in key swing states across the country.8 What if the information from the endorsement of both of these publications signals to millions of readers that Harris is of the same standard as Donald Trump? Or even worse, encourages them not to vote at all if the outcome will be the same?

Sign the petition to call out this injustice for what it is and share with at least three friends. People across the country have already begun to vote early, and we're less than a week out between today and November 5. There is still time to course-correct and be honest with the American people.

Thanks for all you do.

Dear MoveOn member,

Election Day is less than a week away, and the safety of voters and poll workers is critical. Currently, 33 states allow guns in voting stations in some capacity.1 Thousands of MoveOn members have already taken action to demand Congress ban guns at the polls nationwide—but we need your help to keep up the momentum.

Let's be clear: This is a commonsense step our government can take NOW to put an end to this intimidating practice.

It's common for states to have restrictions for what is allowed at polling sites. If there are laws limiting apparel, buttons, and petitions, it is reasonable for our government to take steps to restrict guns and help keep all polling sites safe for all.

With Election Day just around the corner, and early voting starting in many states across the country, we need Congress to immediately act to ensure the safety of voters by making every polling station a gun-free zone now.

Will you sign the petition calling on Congress to act and protect voters nationwide?

Democracy means that everyone can vote freely and safely, and that's the cornerstone of the work we do at Common Cause. In the last year, we've taken bold action to protect voters and poll workers by pushing states to outlaw guns at the polls.

But in these final days before the November 5 election, as we continue to push for local progress, we need to ramp up our federal demands to pass a nationwide ban on guns at the polls.

Add your name to the petition if you agree polling sites should be gun-free zones.

Thanks for all you do.

Will you add your name to my petition calling on Congress to protect poll workers and voters by making every polling place a gun-free zone?

Dear MoveOn member,

No one should be intimidated when working or casting their ballot at the polls. Yet in 33 states, it is still legal in some capacity to have guns in polling places.1

That's why my organization, Common Cause, has been taking bold action to protect voters and poll workers by pushing states to outlaw guns at the polls. Just this year, we helped pass laws restricting guns at polling places in New Mexico and Massachusetts.2 And while these were two major victories, more can and must be done.

As voters gear up to head to the polls, it's time for Congress to take swift action and put an end to this intimidating practice by making EVERY polling place a gun-free zone once and for all.

Will you add your name to the petition and join me in calling on Congress to make polling places gun-free zones?

Tell Congress: Make every polling place a gun-free zone!

No matter what you think about gun safety laws, banning guns at the polls is a commonsense step that Congress and every American who loves democracy should be able to agree on right now.

And with political tensions running high, it's more important than ever to ensure our polling places remain free from suppression and fear.

Add your name now to demand that Congress ban guns at polling locations.

It should be a no-brainer that allowing armed individuals at polling places sends a clear, chilling message of intimidation. Not just for voters, but for the dedicated public servants who work at the polls.

Make no mistake: Our democracy works best when we all feel safe and empowered to vote. With your help, we can make that a reality nationwide.

Click here to sign the petition calling on Congress to take steps to ensure that every American, no matter where they live, can vote without fear. And then share with three friends to help spread the word.

Thanks for all you do.

And that's why in these final six days before the election, we MUST do everything possible to get every left-leaning voter in the battleground states to the polls. But it's going to take all of us doing everything we can.

We need you now, William. Please rush a $9 donation now to help MoveOn have the resources for this final sprint to when the polls close on Election Day.

Thanks for all you do.

  1. This news comes just a week out from one of the most consequential elections of our lifetimes.

We are a week out from an election that will decide the fate of our lives and futures.

Especially considering news dropped last week that another influential billionaire, Twitter/X owner Elon Musk, was planning to hand out huge payments in battleground states as part of a get-out-the-vote drive?6

People across the country have already began to vote early, and we're a week out between today and November 5. There is still time to course-correct and be honest with the American people.

Thanks for all you do.

MoveOn's stunning breakthrough (urgent)

No organization in America has a better track record of success at using cutting-edge strategies to reach infrequent voters who are on our side than MoveOn. I believe that in an election this close, MoveOn's electoral program could be the difference between Vice President Harris winning and losing the election.

Dear MoveOn member,

I've been in politics for more than 50 years, and I don't remember a single election that felt closer than this one.

Polls have been wrong before, so I try not to worry about them too much. But I do pay attention to the averages of polls—and the direction in which odds are moving. And the averages have been stuck in a dead heat for weeks.

Neither Vice President Kamala Harris nor Donald Trump is ahead by even 1 single point in The New York Times polling average of five critical battleground states. Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada, Wisconsin, and North Carolina are all statistically tied.1

In a close election that could come down to just a few thousand votes spread across a handful of states, what will decide the election is voter turnout. We need to reach the voters who are on our side but don't vote consistently.

No organization in America has a better track record of success at using cutting-edge strategies to reach infrequent voters who are on our side than MoveOn. I believe that in an election this close, MoveOn's electoral program could be the difference between Vice President Harris winning and losing the election. Which is why I'm asking:

Will you chip in $9—or whatever you can afford—to help fund MoveOn's big final push to bring this election home for Vice President Harris?

What's uniquely powerful about MoveOn's program is that it's designed to reach, with astounding precision and effectiveness, the left-leaning voters who don't always vote—and get them to the polls.

This incredibly effective tactic—called community vote tripling—is as much as 500% more effective at turning out voters than traditional methods!2

Yes, you read that right—FIVE TIMES as effective. That's a stunning breakthrough! Just look at this chart:

I know that I wrote to you about this program already, but with just seven days left before Election Day, MoveOn is still short of its budget goals. With so much on the line in this year's election, we can't give up when we're so close to victory. Which is why I'm asking you again:

Please chip in $9—or whatever you can afford—to help fund MoveOn's community vote tripling program in the critical final stretch.

Reaching voters who are on our side but vote infrequently is extremely difficult—and absolutely essential. This is exactly what MoveOn's community vote tripling program does.

With community vote tripling, voters who are on our side but don't vote consistently receive personal reminders to vote. And this kind of outreach works even when every other method fails.

In a randomized controlled trial in Georgia in 2022, almost 25% of people reached by community vote tripling had been previously unreachable, despite seven attempts using other methods.3 Seven unsuccessful attempts! MoveOn's community vote tripling method was the only way to get through to them. Without MoveOn's program, these voters wouldn't have been reached at all.

The way community vote tripling works is this: Volunteers ask people who are ready to vote—or have already voted—to reach out to three friends or family members and remind them to vote too. This is powerful because getting a message from a person you trust cuts through the noise and can make all the difference.

And MoveOn's secret sauce is in the targeting. MoveOn's data scientists—who are the best in the business—have pinpointed exactly where community vote tripling efforts will have the most impact. So this program is rolled out in key areas where it'll make the biggest difference.

MoveOn's community vote tripling program will have an incredible impact on this close election—if it's fully funded. Please click here to donate to MoveOn's big final push today. A donation of any size helps.

Thanks for all you do.

–Robert Reich

P.S. Talking to voters in public places like early voting locations and farmers markets reaches thousands of voters that traditional campaign outreach misses. Pennsylvania is essential to Vice President Harris's victory—join Wednesday's training about MoveOn's massively effective get-out-the-vote tactic and how you can make an impact in your community.

Will you take a minute to check your voter registration status and make a plan to vote?

Election Day is nearly one week away! Check your voter registration status and make a plan to vote NOW!

Election Day is around the corner. Check your voter registration status now and make your plan to vote!

Dear MoveOn member,

Believe it or not, but Election Day is nearly one week away! Are you election ready?

In this election, we can come together to elect Vice President Kamala Harris and Democrats down the ballot who will fight for our freedoms, futures, and families. And Republican lawmakers across the country know how consequential this election is too. In fact, in some battleground states, they are actively removing voters from the voting rolls and making it more difficult for people to vote.1

That's why MoveOn developed the Election Ready website to make it super easy to check your voter registration, find your polling place, and even spread the word to others.

Will you take just a few minutes to check your registration status and make a plan for how you plan to cast your ballot? Our site will tell you all the information you need to know about early voting or mail-in voting in your state to make a plan to ensure your ballot is counted.

The only thing better than making sure you're ready to vote is making sure your friends and family are too. The Election Ready website also shares opportunities to increase your impact through encouraging your community to vote and volunteer with MoveOn.

Take just a few minutes to check out the Election Ready site to check your voter registration status and make a plan to vote by November 5.

If you already voted, fantastic! Will you forward this email to three family members and friends to help make sure they are election ready as well?

Thanks for all you do.

Will you sign up to call voters to help elect Vice President Harris?

RSVP to join a phone bank between now and Election Day! We're calling voters daily to help elect VP Harris!

Nearly one week until Election Day! Sign up to call voters now to elect Kamala Harris as our next president!

Dear MoveOn member,

It's official: Election Day is just over one week away. While 32 million Americans have already cast their ballots, millions more have yet to do so.1 And together, we're working to contact as many of them as possible, as soon as possible, to help ensure they turn out to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.

MoveOn is hosting multiple phone bank sessions every day starting now through November 5. Our data team has identified the most crucial people in the most consequential states, whose votes could likely swing this election. But to make a real impact, we need a mass group of people to make these calls. To meet our voter contact goal, we need 250 people to sign up for every phone bank shift starting today.

Will you RSVP now for one or more phone bank shifts to contact voters about the importance of voting to elect Vice President Kamala Harris as our next president? At the beginning of each session, there is a short, comprehensive training, and support is available the entire time. If this is your first time, you will be taken care of and fully equipped!

Here's a snapshot of what a few MoveOn members said about phone-banking this week:

  • "So energized by these conversations and the feedback from the debrief at the end of the call. We are making a difference."
  • "Just chatted with a Kamala Harris supporter. She's now taking 5 people to the polls with her on Saturday since they do not have a car! Wow!"
  • "I reached someone at her place of work just now. She said, "Hang on, let me remind my co-workers to vote!" and all three shouted out which day they'll be early voting."
  • "Training and support was excellent!"

MoveOn members having a blast while phone-banking!
RSVP now to join them any day this week and next.

You've heard this before, but the consequences of this election couldn't be higher. On one side we have a candidate, Donald Trump, who will bulldoze over our rights, erode our democracy, and implement the dystopian Project 2025 agenda. And then there's Kamala Harris, the candidate who will fight for our futures, freedoms, and families.

The choice is clear, and we must make it clear to voters across the country who have yet to vote. There's just one week to leave it all on the field! Sign up to call voters now!

Phone-banking with MoveOn is a powerful, effective strategy. During these phone banks, members aren't just talking AT people but are truly talking and listening TO people. One member recently shared, "I take action because I understand the power of actively listening to people's stories and their legitimate concerns about the upcoming election. I have persuaded many to vote, because of my story. Phone-banking is very strategic in reaching and persuading unlikely voters!"

There are 24 phone bank shifts between today and Election Day. Please sign up to join one or more. And forward this email and invite your family and friends to join you. You won't regret it because you'll be making a difference.

Thanks for all you do.

You need to see this Trump billboard!

As early voting gets underway and the Southeast states recover from the devastating hurricanes, MoveOn is putting up billboards in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina—critical battleground states—spotlighting Trump's decision to cut $155 million from disaster relief funds during his presidency.

Dear MoveOn member,

As Hurricanes Helene and Milton ravaged the Southeast over the past month, Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans spread rampant disinformation about the federal government's response—which slowed disaster relief and led to death threats against Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) staff and even meteorologists.1

As unconscionable as it is, politicizing disaster relief, including when lives hang in the balance, is not new for Trump. As president, he cut $155 million from FEMA.2 $155 million! And multiple high-level officials who served in his administration say he also deliberately denied disaster relief funds to states that did not vote for him.3

As early voting gets underway and the Southeast states recover from the devastating hurricanes, MoveOn is putting up billboards in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina—critical battleground states—spotlighting Trump's decision to cut $155 million from disaster relief funds during his presidency. The billboards serve as a stark reminder of Trump's priorities and the way his policies harm communities. We're putting them up in places with the highest concentration of left-leaning "surge voters"—largely young people and people in other marginalized groups who do not consistently vote. These are the very same voters we're focused on turning out through our data-driven, large-scale get-out-the-vote program.

The billboards launched this week in Raleigh, Charlotte, Savannah, and West Palm Beach and will run through Election Day. But if we raise the money, we can put the billboard up in other highly strategic locations in the battleground states. Will you start a weekly donation through Election Day to help us get the truth to more voters as millions cast their votes?

Former Trump administration officials have come forward to share that, when he was in the White House, Trump severely restricted emergency relief to Puerto Rico in the wake of the devastating Hurricane Maria in 2017, initially refused to release federal disaster aid for wildfires in California in 2018, and withheld wildfire assistance for Washington state in 2020, because voters in those places didn't vote for him in sufficient numbers.4

Kevin Carroll, former senior counselor to Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly during Trump's term, told The Guardian, "It was clear that Trump was entirely self-interested and vengeful towards those he perceived didn't vote for him. He even wanted to pull the navy out of Hawaii because they didn't vote for him. We were appalled – these are American civilians the government is meant to provide for. The idea of withholding aid is antithetical to everything you want from a leader."5

Trump approved disaster aid to California in the wake of the devastating wildfires in 2018 only after his aides provided him data showing that Orange County, which was hard hit by the wildfires, has large numbers of Republican voters, according to Olivia Troye, a former Homeland Security adviser during the Trump administration.6

William, left-leaning infrequent voters in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina deserve to know the truth about Trump's record slashing FEMA funds and denying disaster relief to communities in dire need. Will you start a weekly donation through Election Day to help us put up more of these billboards in areas with high concentrations of these surge voters?

We're down to the wire in the closest presidential race in modern history.

Everything we do in the next 10 days matters. MoveOn is reaching out to left-leaning infrequent voters in battleground states personally through their friends and family as well as via text, phone, ads, social media influencers, and now billboards.

We're in this together through Election Day—and after, regardless of the outcome. But right now, please join us in doing everything we can through Election Day to elect Vice President Harris, send Trump to the dustbin of history, and deal a major blow to MAGA.

No organization in America has a better track record of success

My friends, this is no ordinary election.

Dear MoveOn member,

My friends, this is no ordinary election. This is no ordinary time.

At this juncture—just over one week until Election Day with the race tied in battleground states—none of us who care about the future of this country can afford to be a mere spectator.

This is an all-hands-on-deck moment. The stakes could not be higher.

We MUST—simply must—do everything in our power to help turn out the millions of people with progressive values in battleground states and districts who risk sitting out this election. I can tell you quite confidently that these voters will make the difference—but only if they vote.

That's why I'm writing to you now with a very serious last request: Please, if you can afford $9, join me in rushing a donation to MoveOn's highly strategic and effective work to turn out infrequent voters in battleground states and districts. MoveOn has been focused on these voters all year long and is firing on all cylinders now, running a massive, multifaceted program to reach these precise voters, but MoveOn needs an urgent infusion of donations to pay for it all.

Will you join me right now, William? Please.

National Public Radio released an investigation this week that found that Donald Trump has made more than 100 threats to prosecute or punish perceived enemies.1

In these final days before the polls close, Trump is escalating his attacks on fellow Americans whom he calls "the enemy from within."2

Trump went so far as to say that if "radical left lunatics" disrupt the election, "it should be very easily handled by—if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military."3

Which gets me right back to that all-hands-on-deck moment I was talking about.

That's where MoveOn comes in.

They have devised a data-driven campaign to cut through the noise of the media and reach the precise voters who are likely to decide this election—1.5 million of them, to be exact.

They are now in the final sprint of a yearlong campaign that began by engaging and persuading these voters and is now working 24/7 every day to get them out to the polls.

I've been tracking this work all year and have been consistently wowed by the strategic analysis that shaped MoveOn's work, as well as their focused and steadfast execution.

They are engaging these voters from all angles. Handwritten postcards, phone calls, microtargeted ad campaigns that are able to ensure that each voter sees the ad most persuasive to them across multiple digital channels, partnerships with social media influencers, and, perhaps most importantly, their innovative community vote tripling program that helps surge voters reach out personally to their family and friends to remind them to cast a ballot—a program that studies show is as much as five times more effective than traditional voter outreach.

Impressive, right?

No organization in America has a better track record of success at using cutting-edge strategies to reach infrequent voters who are on our side than MoveOn. I believe that MoveOn's electoral program could be the difference between Vice President Harris winning or losing the election. Which is why I'm asking:

Please, if you are able, rush a $9 donation to MoveOn right now to power this critical, democracy-saving work all the way through Election Day.

William, we all watched January 6 happen in real time. Would you call masked and armed rioters beating police officers with flagpoles, erecting gallows to "hang Mike Pence," and stalking through the halls of Congress in an attempt to stop the certification of a free and fair election a "day of love," as Trump recently did?4 Would you proudly refer to yourself as a member of the "we" who did all that?

What do you think our nation's future looks like if our president believes those things?

We cannot allow that future to become our reality, and it is up to each and every one of us to stop it.

MoveOn's get-out-the-vote program will have an incredible impact on this close election—if it's fully funded. Please donate right now to MoveOn's final sprint to Election Day. A donation of any size helps.

Thanks for all you do.

P.S. Stop doomscrolling! The election is close, so that means that all get-out-the-vote efforts can make the difference between winning and losing in battleground states. Ease your anxiety by signing up for one of the daily phone banks to call Harris supporters and ask them to remind their friends and family to vote.

Want to support MoveOn? The MAGA right is declaring war, and Project 2025 is their battle plan. Project 2025 threatens our rights, attacks communities of color, hurts middle- and working-class families, and undermines our democracy. But we will not back down or let Trump steamroll our nation.

Will you donate to power MoveOn's election plan, stop Trump, and ensure Project 2025 is never enacted?

Yes, I'll chip in.
