Breaking: FCC is investigating PBS and NPR (sign the petition)

Trump's administration is officially filing an investigation into NPR and PBS to undermine and attack the integrity of public journalism.

Breaking: Trump's administration is officially filing an investigation into NPR and PBS to undermine and attack the integrity of public journalism—they must be stopped. Sign the petition now to show your support for NPR and PBS!

Dear MoveOn member,

Republicans are once again attacking public broadcast outlets NPR and PBS. The Federal Communications Commission chairman, Brendan Carr, has officially announced that they will be investigating if NPR and PBS violated government rules by recognizing sponsors on air.1

Republicans have repeatedly sought excuses to cut PBS funding. Donald Trump has been threatening to cut all public broadcast funding since his first presidency—spewing baseless attacks against public broadcasting and even recently claiming that NPR is a "liberal disinformation machine."2 Trump's ally Elon Musk has also been on the record criticizing and attacking public broadcasting. He even recently tweeted "Legacy media must die" and "Defund @NPR" when they left his platform X.3 While such attacks aren't new, we now see how far Trump is willing to go to use the tools of government for his personal agenda, and disappointingly we've seen numerous for-profit media entities bend to his will.

This is part of a decades-old Republican playbook to attack independent media, undermine it, and seek to defund it. Will you sign the petition NOW?

All of that makes independent journalism so much more critical. These baseless attacks against public broadcasting and the crucial funding needed to run these programs create a real threat for Americans across the country. Nearly 99% of the U.S. population lives within the listening range of at least one public media station.4 Every single person deserves access to local news, educational programming, and independent journalism without corporate and political influence—especially as corporate-owned media reveal their willingness to bend to Trump's agenda for the sake of their own profits.

In a time where misinformation and disinformation are at an all-time high, it's crucial that Americans have access to important public broadcasting networks such as PBS and NPR. Will you sign the petition now to tell Congress not to cut funding to PBS and NPR?

Add your name: Americans deserve access to public broadcasting networks. Don't cut funding to NPR and PBS!

Republicans attacking public broadcasting is not new—this fight has been going on for decades. In 2005, Ed Markey was defending public broadcasting against the Bush administration and said, "What parents and kids get from public TV is an incredible bargain. The question is not: 'Can we afford it?' but rather: 'Can we afford to lose it?'"5

And over the years, MoveOn members have defended PBS again and again—with hundreds of thousands of signatures, events on Capitol Hill, and "Save Big Bird" campaigns that earned national attention ... and won! We can, and must, do it again.

Add your name to the petition to protect PBS and NPR against attacks by the Trump administration!

This fight is framed around funding—but this is really a fight about access. Our most vulnerable communities will suffer from these attacks and budget cuts the most. Millions of Americans rely on public media for their news and educational programming. In many rural areas in our country, public broadcasting is their main avenue for receiving news, emergency updates, and more.6

Every child deserves access to shows such as "Sesame Street" and "Curious George." According to a 2014 report, PBS Kids reaches 80% of children from ages 2 through 8.7This is crucial programming for educational development and brings joy to many households across the country.

This is all a part of Donald Trump and Project 2025's framework. Click here to fight back against these attacks and demand that Congress support PBS and NPR and not cut funding for any public broadcasting!

Thanks for all you do.

Trump's cruelty

Just yesterday, the wave of public outrage in response to Trump's brazen attempt to cut off federal funding for everything from schools to veterans' care forced him to rescind the order—at least for now.

Dear MoveOn member,

Roll up your sleeves, because we have real work to do, William. Let me explain:

When Donald Trump took the oath of office just over a week ago, he swore to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States," only to trample on our Constitution and rule of law minutes later by illegally proclaiming the end of birthright citizenship and issuing "full, complete, and unconditional" pardons for more than 1,500 January 6 insurrectionists, including those who attacked Capitol police with firearms, brass knuckles, batons, flagpoles, and bear spray.1,2

If you look at how dictators have dismantled democracy, this is it.

"I JUST GOT THE NEWS FROM MY LAWYER … I GOT A PARDON BABY! THANK YOU PRESIDENT TRUMP!!!" Jacob Chansley, dubbed the "QAnon Shaman" as a reflection of his horned-animal headdress and body paint that day, posted on X. And then he went on to post that his next plan was to buy guns.3

Terrifying, yes. But that's Trump's point. He wants to intimidate us into submission. He wants to drown us in outrage. He wants us to feel hopeless and powerless.

But history shows that early, strategic opposition is crucial to stopping authoritarian overreach. Just yesterday, the wave of public outrage in response to Trump's brazen attempt to cut off federal funding for everything from schools to veterans' care forced him to rescind the order—at least for now.4

And I believe deeply in what we can accomplish when we come together to fight for our values and the common good. We have tremendous power collectively—if we use it.

That's why I'm writing to you today to ask you to support MoveOn right now. MoveOn has briefed me on their plans for these first critical weeks and months of the Trump presidency. They swung into action immediately after Trump's funding freeze became public and are acting swiftly and strategically to show Trump and MAGA forces that ...

  • There will be immediate, highly visible public opposition to attempts to take away our freedoms and enrich Trump's billionaire friends at our expense.
  • Our movement will not be distracted by Trump's chaos and misdirection.
  • We can focus our collective power where we have the most leverage.

It's just what we need in this moment. William, will you join us in starting a monthly donation to MoveOn to help build a powerful nationwide movement to strategically and effectively challenge Trump's worst actions and abuses? As a grassroots organization, MoveOn gets the resources and ability to do this work from us.

I'm not saying you shouldn't feel scared or overwhelmed. Allow yourself some grace.

But do not lose hope. In addition to forcing Trump to rescind the federal funding freeze, we've already stopped Trump's attempt to end birthright citizenship, which is guaranteed by the 14th Amendment. Last week, a Republican judge blocked Trump's action, saying, "I have been on the bench for over four decades. I can't remember another case where the question presented is as clear as it is here. This is a blatantly unconstitutional order."5

And remember, we've faced impossible odds before and prevailed. During Trump's first term, when Republicans also controlled the House and Senate in 2017 and 2018, MoveOn was a critical leader, helping bring millions of us together to block major parts of Trump's agenda. Together, we did all this:

  • Saved the Affordable Care Act
  • Forced Trump to end family separation at the border
  • Prevented some of his most extreme policies from being implemented
  • Stopped Trump from further undermining the U.S. Postal Service and other key democratic institutions through sustained resistance

But, critically, this crucial moment demands more than just hope. It requires concrete actions from millions of Americans joining together with purpose and resolve.

That's precisely where MoveOn comes in, with its millions of members all across the country. We urgently need MoveOn to help lead the fight to stop Trump's authoritarian overreach.

Re: Trump's strategy is to make us feel powerless to fight back. But our collective power is immense—if we use it.

Trump's strategy is clear: overwhelm us with outrage after outrage until we feel powerless to fight back. But we're already stopping his authoritarian actions.

Dear MoveOn member,

Just days into his presidency, Donald Trump has unleashed an unprecedented number of extreme executive actions—from pardoning violent January 6 insurrectionists to unilaterally attempting to end birthright citizenship to withdrawing from global climate agreements. His strategy is clear: overwhelm us with outrage after outrage until we feel powerless to fight back.

But we're already stopping Trump's authoritarian actions. Our public outrage today forced Trump to rescind his sweeping order freezing federal funding for everything from schools to veterans' health care, though he appears determined to fight in the courts to push the cuts through, undermining our families and communities to line billionaires' pockets.1 Also, last Thursday, a federal judge blocked his attack on birthright citizenship, calling it "blatantly unconstitutional."2

These early victories show that when we stand together and fight back strategically through the courts and with sustained public pressure, we can defeat Trump's most dangerous overreaches.

We've been here before—and won. When Trump was in the White House and Republicans controlled both chambers of Congress in 2017 and 2018, MoveOn members and allies successfully blocked major parts of his agenda. Together, we:

  • Saved the Affordable Care Act
  • Forced Trump to end family separation at the border
  • Prevented some of his most extreme policies from being implemented
  • Protected key democratic institutions through sustained resistance

Now, with Republicans holding only a razor-thin majority in the House and by using every political and legal tool at our disposal, we can again stop Trump's most dangerous plans to undermine our freedoms, pollute our planet, and empower his billionaire friends at our expense. But we must act swiftly and strategically, showing Trump and MAGA forces that:

  • There will be immediate, highly visible public opposition to any attempt to take away our freedoms
  • Our movement will not be distracted by Trump's chaos and misdirection
  • We can focus our collective power where we have the most leverage

That's why your support for MoveOn is so critical right now. We're building a powerful nationwide movement to challenge Trump's actions where we have the most leverage, mobilize massive public opposition, and hold accountable those enabling his attacks on our freedoms, justice, equal economic opportunity, and our planet. But we can do this work only with grassroots support from members like you.

Will you start a monthly donation to help MoveOn lead the fight against Trump's extreme agenda, day after day and month after month? Every dollar helps us build the strategic, sustained resistance needed to protect our freedoms and stop Trump's worst abuses of power.

With your help, MoveOn will:

  • Encourage states to stand up to Trump. State attorneys general have already sued to stop Trump's birthright citizenship order, which a federal court has also blocked, and we'll need to push states to take far more actions like these.3
  • Fight to protect Social Security. The far-right Cato Institute has prepared a report for Elon Musk's so-called "Department of Government Efficiency," which calls Social Security a Ponzi scheme and says that cost-of-living adjustments should be frozen, the eligibility age must be raised to 70, and benefits overall should be cut back—all so that billionaires and corporations can receive more tax cuts.4
  • Work to save Medicare and Medicaid. Project 2025's "antiscience, antidata, and antimedicine" agenda is poised to "upend medical practice," push seniors onto managed care programs that enrich corporate executives at the expense of health care access and quality, and bring back the old days, before the Affordable Care Act, when insurance companies could deny coverage to people with preexisting conditions.5
  • Work to protect public media by pushing Congress to keep funding for NPR and PBS. For years, Republicans have been trying to eliminate NPR and PBS but have failed. Now, we expect these pushes to reach a fever pitch, and we'll need to pull out all the stops to fight back.6
  • Fight for the most vulnerable Americans with clear moral opposition, protests, and efforts in states across America to beat back policies that attack immigrants, pregnant people, LGBTQ+ people, and others.

Please, start a monthly donation to MoveOn to help stop some of the worst parts of Trump's Project 2025 agenda. We can do it only with you.

RFK Jr.'s confirmation hearing is TODAY! Join our phone bank tell senators to REJECT him as next HHS secretary!

It's critical that we flood senate offices with phone calls to make clear he is the wrong choice to lead HHS!

Take action to stop RFK Jr. from leading the Health Department—RSVP to call MoveOn members whose senators are undecided to help ramp up the pressure.

Dear MoveOn member,

Today, RFK Jr. faced his first Senate confirmation hearing as Trump's nominee for the next leader of the Department of Health and Human Services.1 This means we have just days left to pressure our senators to vote no before the full Senate vote. RFK Jr. is a grave threat to our health and safety, and his confirmation must be rejected by the Senate.

Simply put, under RFK Jr.'s leadership, our people will become sicker. If his anti-science positions become policy, more people will suffer and die. This will be the result of his plans to stop infectious disease research, promote anti-vaccine conspiracies, and take away Medicaid from millions of people. And in his Senate hearing this morning, RFK Jr. just signaled that he would declare the abortion pill Mifepristone unsafe!2 We need a HHS secretary that supports access to abortion care, not someone conspiring against a safe FDA-approved pill.

It's critical that we flood Senate offices with phone calls to make clear he is the wrong choice to lead HHS!

Will you join a phone bank on Thursday, January 30, to mobilize fellow MoveOn members to call their senators to demand they vote no on RFK Jr.'s confirmation?

During this phone bank, you will be calling fellow MoveOn members in key states to urge them to call their senators to demand they vote no on RFK Jr.'s confirmation. You'll introduce yourself as a MoveOn member, have a conversation about why RFK Jr. is a dangerous pick for this position, and ask if they'd like to be connected directly to their senator's office. MoveOn's technology will swiftly patch them through to their senator automatically!

And we've selected five Republican senators to target that we think, with enough pressure from constituents, could block RFK Jr.'s confirmation.

RFK Jr. wants to stop infectious disease drug development and research and does not believe infectious diseases are an enormous threat to public health. And with him in charge, we could see a deadly resurgence in illnesses like measles and polio.3

We've already seen the danger of RFK Jr.'s influence and anti-vaccine position. In 2019, RFK Jr. promoted anti-vaccine conspiracy theories in American Samoa that led to a measles outbreak which killed 83 people, mainly children. His dangerous fringe beliefs have and will lead to more deaths.4

The Department of Health and Human Services oversees 13 sub-agencies, including Medicare and Medicaid, and has a budget of well over $1 trillion and more than 80,000 employees. Millions of Americans count on the services and functioning of HHS, and RFK Jr. will run this agency into the ground.5

Donald Trump has nominated dangerous candidates for almost all of his Cabinet positions—RFK Jr's nomination is another example of Trump being out of touch with what Americans really need—a leader who will expand access to health care and encourage people to believe in science, not spew out anti-vaccine conspiracies and cut access to Medicaid.

For all these reasons and more, our senators must reject RFK Jr. as the next secretary of Health and Human Services. Together, we can mobilize thousands of people to call their senators to urge them to vote no on this dangerous nominee.

Join our phone bank to help encourage MoveOn members to join you in calling their senators and speaking out against RFK Jr. as the next secretary of Health and Human Services.

Thanks for all you do.

Will you sign the petition to say NO to Trump's memo cutting federal aid?

Trump is slashing resources for working-class and everyday people—meanwhile, his billionaire friends keep getting richer.

Our taxes, our priorities! Tell Donald Trump: Do NOT cut federal aid!

Dear MoveOn member,

Yesterday, President Donald Trump issued a catastrophic memo ordering a pause in all federal grants and loans starting today at 5:00 p.m. ET, giving barely 24 hours for states, organizations, and local officials to respond, leaving them scrambling to interpret the vague directive.

If not stopped, this memo could be devastating for people in the U.S. and globallydisrupting public services, eroding infrastructure and safety nets, and impacting jobs.

Children and families across the country could suffer with the future of school breakfast programs; food benefits like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC); child care block grants; and housing vouchers in jeopardy.1

Not to mention how the memo could impact funding for public education, roads, and transportation. Health care programs and funding for Medicaid, cancer research, and suicide hotlines are also at risk.2,3 Multiple states are already reporting trouble accessing the portal used to manage Medicaid spending.4

Even temporary pauses or freezes could dramatically reshape our social safety nets and public services—and already people are worried that these changes could become permanent.

Trump is slashing resources for working-class and everyday people—meanwhile, his billionaire friends keep getting richer. Will you add your name to the petition to show that we, the people, OPPOSE Trump freezing federal funds that go toward our schools, families, and communities?

It's been one week since Donald Trump was inaugurated, and he's already sowing chaos and threatening to completely dismantle our social safety nets. Add your name to say NO to freezing federal aid that our communities desperately need!

Members in Congress like Senator Patty Murray and Representative Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut are sounding the alarm, warning that the scope of what Trump has proposed is "unprecedented" and "will have devastating consequences across the country."5 Let's be clear—this directive is straight out of Project 2025, the unpopular extremist manifesto that Trump repeatedly distanced himself from during his campaign and said he wouldn't enact.6,7 Suddenly cutting essential aid for seniors, children, and families and putting people's jobs at risk is a cruel, heartless demonstration of power and is a betrayal to everyone, no matter where they live or whom they voted for.

Trump and his wealthy friends won't be impacted by slashes to federal aid. This is just another political stunt to them. But for everyday people, stunts like this are devastating. It's unacceptable for the people we trust and elect into office to play politics with the social safety nets we rely on.

These federal grants are our tax dollars at work. Trump has no right to freeze necessary funding and put our communities, jobs, and health at risk. Add your name to the petition NOW!

It's not a coincidence that—despite tens of billions of dollars at stake—the two-page memo was vaguely written and issued as a surprise, with little notice or time to respond. Trump's game plan since Day 1 has been to create chaos. He wants to see what he can get away with.

But millions of Americans rely on the programs disrupted by this memo, and we all benefit when our schools are funded, roads are maintained, and communities cared for. We will not allow our neighbors to fall through the cracks created by this administration. We are ready to fight back.

Click here to demand NO freezes or cuts to federal aid—temporary or permanent—and send to three friends to help spread the word.

CBS 58 fired meteorologist Sam Kuffel after she PRIVATELY criticized Elon Musk for gesturing in what resembled a Nazi salute?! (sign the petition)

While billionaire Elon Musk evades any accountability for his actions, everyday people like Sam Kuffel have to fear for their livelihoods for speaking out as private citizens in the face of extreme hate.

A CBS affiliate fired meteorologist Sam Kuffel after she criticized Elon Musk for gesturing in what resembled a Nazi salute. Sign the petition to demand they reinstate her NOW!

Dear MoveOn member,

During Donald Trump's inauguration, tech billionaire and richest man in the world Elon Musk—who spent more than $250 million to help elect Trump—gave a speech to the crowd in which he gestured, twice, with what resembled a Nazi salute. Not only has Musk refused to apologize for the association, whether it was intentional or unintentional—he has actually doubled down since the backlash, attending a rally for the far-right Alternative for Germany, trivializing the Holocaust, and posting offensive puns on X.1

Sam Kuffel expressed criticism of Musk and his salute on her personal Instagram account. Her employer, CBS 58, was alerted to the post and she was swiftly fired from her position as a meteorologist. All for expressing her private views on her private social media account.

While billionaire Musk evades any accountability for his actions, everyday people like Kuffel have to fear for their livelihoods for speaking out as private citizens in the face of extreme hate. Nearly 90% of readers who took a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel poll disagree with CBS 58's decision to fire Kuffel.2

Add your name to the petition to urge CBS 58 and their parent company, Weigel Broadcasting, to reverse this decision NOW!

Private citizens should be able to express dissent without retaliation or firing. Add your name to urge CBS 58 to stand on the right side of history and reinstate Sam Kuffel!

Musk's controversial salute has been praised by people like Nick Fuentes, a white supremacist and Hitler admirer who was excited about Musk's perceived "straight-up sieg heil, like loving Hitler energy."3 It bears noting that Musk reinstated Fuentes' account on X after it was previously suspended for antisemitic hate speech.4

Musk doesn't care that his gestures and remarks are being celebrated by neo-Nazis and white supremacists. Meanwhile, everyday people are facing backlash for speaking out against him. Will you sign the petition?

Musk's gestures, remarks, and posts take place during an increase in neo-Nazi and white supremacist demonstrations across the United States.5 And many of these same groups are celebrating Trump and the rise of the far right. Shortly after the election, neo-Nazis gathered outside a community theater production of "The Diary of Anne Frank" in Michigan, cheering for both Hitler and Trump.6

In the face of rising hate, President Donald Trump's silence is significant—and the actions of Musk are indefensible. We need more people like Sam Kuffel speaking out and fighting back against hate. And they should be able to do so without being punished or experiencing retaliation.

Will you sign the petition and let CBS 58 know that the general public SUPPORTS Sam Kuffel and the right of private citizens to safely express dissent?

The rise in neo-Nazi and white supremacist demonstrations coincides with an increase in hate crimes in cities across the country, like New York, Chicago, Houston, and Phoenix.7 As hate groups are given more platforms to amplify their agenda, and their ideologies are endorsed by mainstream figures, violence can and does follow.8

David Moskovic, a 95-year-old Holocaust survivor, expressed his concerns upon seeing Musk's gesture on a national stage, stating: "I would have never thought this would happen in my lifetime, and it's happening. It's scary what's happening right now in the United States."9

When Musk was confronted with the impact of his actions and the trauma they evoked in people like Moskovic, instead of apologizing, Musk lashed out, trivialized the Holocaust, and joked about Nazis. We should all be able to call it like it is and say that his behavior is unacceptable, without risking our livelihoods.

Click here to add your name to the petition and demand the station reinstate Sam Kuffel and denounce hate speech!

Thanks for all you do.

Re: Will you sign the petition to tell Congress that RFK Jr. is NOT fit to lead HHS?

RFK Jr. is a dangerous threat to America's health. We have to do everything we can this week to oppose his nomination! Will you add your name?

RFK Jr.'s key confirmation hearings start this Wednesday! Add your name to OPPOSE his nomination to the Department of Health and Human Services.

Dear MoveOn member,

Laura from Voices of Health Care Action again. Wednesday is RFK Jr.'s Senate confirmation hearing to decide if the Senate committee will advance his nomination to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). His nomination rightfully faces mounting opposition from across political spectrums for his dangerous anti-vaccination beliefs, his inexperience and inability to successfully run such a large government agency handling health care for hundreds of millions of Americans, and his inconsistency when it comes to reproductive health care. But with Republicans set on advancing every single one of President Donald Trump's unpopular Cabinet nominees, we have to keep up the public pressure and urge the Senate to block his nomination.

Will you join the more than 39,000 MoveOn members who have signed the petition opposing RFK Jr.'s nomination to lead the Department of Health and Human Services?

In 2023, RFK Jr. wrote that "[t]here is virtually no science assessing the overall health effects of the vaccination schedule or its component vaccines."1 This is not only scary—it's completely baseless.

Let's be clear: Vaccines have successfully eradicated smallpox, nearly eradicated polio, and have dramatically reduced mortality rates for diseases like the measles.2 The World Health Organization (WHO) has estimated at least 154 million lives have been saved globally due to immunization efforts.3 But President Donald Trump directing the U.S. to exit WHO and nominating a notorious anti-vaxxer like RFK Jr. to lead the HHS threatens the progress we've made here and globally when it comes to public health.

And it's not just his views on vaccines that are dangerous. It's also reported that RFK Jr. has told close Trump allies that he will restore anti-abortion policies from the first Trump administration—putting privacy laws and the right to access to abortion pills at risk.4 RFK Jr., who has been inconsistent in his stance on abortion, seems to be falling in line with the Trump administration and extreme anti-abortion zealots determined to help pave RFK Jr.'s path to power as long as he delivers on their unpopular agenda.5

RFK Jr. is a dangerous threat to America's health. We have to do everything we can this week to oppose his nomination! Will you add your name?

Thanks for all you do.

Join Health Care Voices in telling Congress: RFK Jr. is not fit to lead the Department of Health and Human Services!

Dear MoveOn member,

Laura from Health Care Voices here. In less than two weeks Donald Trump will be inaugurated, and he has already started working to push through his blatantly disqualified and harmful Cabinet nominees. Health care advocates, people with serious medical conditions, and their loved ones are deeply concerned about the public health effects of appointing Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). We are running out of time, and we have to mobilize NOW to block this dangerous nomination.

RFK Jr. has already met with dozens of senators, and while many senators support his nomination following his pledge to support Trump's "pro-life" agenda, a few are skeptical after his latest proposals on polio and measles vaccines. It will take just a few Republican senators to block his nomination. But we are running out of time, and we have to mobilize NOW to block this dangerous nomination.

Will you join together with people who care about the safety and health of our country and sign the petition specifically opposing RFK Jr.'s nomination?

The HHS is responsible for overseeing critical research treatments and cures for infectious diseases. But RFK Jr. does not believe infectious diseases are an enormous threat to public health. How can we trust this person to keep us safe and make progress to make our communities safer?

We don't have to guess what harm RFK Jr.'s dangerous anti-vaccine crusade will do in our communities. We've already seen the damage in places like Samoa, where anti-vaccine activists spreading disinformation—with RFK Jr. himself as one of the leading voices—led to a preventable and heartbreaking outbreak of measles just five years ago, killing dozens of children.1 His beliefs are not just fringe—they are deadly.

Right now, with outbreaks of H5N1 (bird flu) occurring in animals in the U.S., it's terrifying to think how an anti-science conspiracy theorist like RFK Jr.—and the individuals he will hire and appoint to major agencies—will handle infectious disease outbreaks like this.

RFK Jr.'s appointment is reckless and irresponsible. And it's the duty of Congress to protect the American people and BLOCK his nomination. Will you sign the petition against RFK Jr.'s appointment in the name of public health?

Congress must protect public health by opposing RFK Jr.'s appointment to the Department of Health and Human Services!

Even the American Public Health Association released a statement saying that "America deserves better than RFK Jr."2

The Department of Health and Human Services employs 80,000 individuals and has a budget of over $1 trillion. It oversees drug, vaccine, and food safety, as well as critical research and social service programs like Medicare and Medicaid. And it also oversees 13 important subagencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).3 RFK Jr. has no experience running a government agency, let alone an organization this big and this important.

RFK Jr. would send us further backward and put our families and communities at greater risk of harm. Will you add your name to the petition?

We need individuals who believe in science and scientific evidence, and who will lead with integrity and in the best interest of the public. RFK Jr. has failed to demonstrate the basic qualifications for this role. And our elected officials need to demonstrate political courage and oppose this nomination.

Click here to add your name to the petition and show the overwhelming public opposition to RFK Jr. for secretary of HHS.

Thanks for all you do.

Trump's strategy is to make us feel powerless to fight back. But our collective power is immense—if we use it.

Together, we can and will defeat Trump's attempts attempts to overwhelm and silence us. We've come up against seemingly impossible odds before and prevailed by staying focused, strategic, and united. But we must act together. Our collective power is immense—if we use it.

Dear MoveOn member,

In just his first days back in office, Donald Trump has unleashed an unprecedented number of extreme executive actions—from pardoning violent January 6 insurrectionists to attempting to end birthright citizenship to withdrawing from global climate agreements. His strategy is clear: overwhelm us with outrage after outrage until we feel powerless to fight back.

But we're already stopping Trump's authoritarian actions. On Thursday, a federal judge blocked his attack on birthright citizenship, calling it "blatantly unconstitutional."1

This early victory shows that when we stand together and fight back strategically through the courts and with sustained public pressure, we can defeat Trump's most dangerous overreaches.

State attorneys general have already sued to stop Trump's birthright citizenship order, which a federal court has also blocked, and we'll need to push states to take far more actions like these.2
  • Fight to protect Social Security. The far-right Cato Institute has prepared a report for Elon Musk's so-called "Department of Government Efficiency," which calls Social Security a Ponzi scheme and says that cost-of-living adjustments should be frozen, the eligibility age must be raised to 70, and benefits overall should be cut back—all so that billionaires and corporations can receive more tax cuts.3
  • Work to save Medicare and Medicaid. Project 2025's "antiscience, antidata, and antimedicine" agenda is poised to "upend medical practice," push seniors onto managed care programs that enrich corporate executives at the expense of health care access and quality, and bring back the old days, before the Affordable Care Act, when insurance companies could deny coverage to people with preexisting conditions.4
  • Work to protect public media by pushing Congress to keep funding for NPR and PBS. For years, Republicans have been trying to eliminate NPR and PBS but have failed. Now, we expect these pushes to reach a fever pitch, and we'll need to pull out all the stops to fight back.5
  • Fight for the most vulnerable Americans with clear moral opposition, protests, and efforts in states across America to beat back policies that attack immigrants, pregnant people, LGBTQ+ people, and others.

Please, start a monthly donation to MoveOn to help stop some of the worst parts of Trump's Project 2025 agenda. We can do it only with you.
